Life is like one big charade for some people…

This is pretty relevant to what I was thinking about earlier whilst watching a programme about the riots that happened last year.

I’ve noticed so many people tend to put on a desperate front in the attempt to appear like a person who does the right thing. However, disappointingly, with most people this is just a shell they have built themselves. A mask, covering their real self; the one who doesn’t care for anyone or anything.

I was talking the other day about a memory from my younger days, when my sister and I found £60 on the floor of a shopping centre back home. We gave it in. After telling my friends this story every single one of them said if they had found the £60 they’d have kept it. Something which really makes me think about society these days.

Everyone has double standards, it’s always one way for yourself and something different for everybody else. If any of my friends had lost that money and later found someone had picked it up and kept it, they’d be off ranting about how people have no respect and they are thieves. When really, they would have done exactly the same thing.

It’s funny, the idea of putting on a front. It would seem people these days often act a certain way so others perceive them in a light of their choosing, but have no actual intent in changing their ways and being this character they’re creating.
